Welcome to our Website!
I am privileged to greet you on behalf of Korean Community Service Center of Greater Washington (KCSC), an organization that is dedicated to serving our community with empathy and compassion. Our organization was founded in 1974 with a mission to help Asian Americans and new immigrants become well-adjusted and fully contributing members of this society through the provision of social services, education, advocacy and development.
I am humbled by the opportunity to serve the community as chairman of the board for a non-profit organization that the Catalogue for Philanthropy recently selected as “one of the best” nonprofits in the metropolitan Washington region. Our staff members are equipped with the utmost professionalism, social service skills, and knowledge; our volunteers are dedicated with a bona fide desire to serve; and our board members are selfless in the time and energy they devote to KCSC’s mission.
I am also proud to report that we are growing as an organization. In 2016, KCSC provided a total of 17,398 units of service and supports to more than 12,000 individuals and families. KCSC’s financial outlook is also bright; since 2015, our revenue has grown by nearly 40%. We will continue to be transparent with our capital, ensuring that more than 90% of KCSC’s revenue is spent directly on programs and services.
I recommend that all visitors surf our webpages to learn more about who we are and what we do. Also please visit the “WAYS TO GIVE” page to help us to continue our work.
I would like to share my favorite quote by C.S. Lewis: “Nothing that you have not given away will ever be really yours.”
