Continuing Education
Purpose
To provide educational benefits and social support networks for Korean adults and seniors in the community
Description
Continuing education program offers adults a variety of subjects to improve their proficiency in English and study American culture through such classes as ESL education, United States History, and Citizenship preparation classes. Art, Music, Physical Fitness, and community services, and field trips are also offered to provide healthy and active extracurricular activities mostly to seniors who are in need of expanding their social circle, and engaging in active hobbies. This program plays a critical role, particularly for older adults and those with limited English proficiency who are often deprived of opportunities to meet other Korean people resulting in social isolation and mental health issues.

KCSC has developed our own citizenship preparation booklet and audio cassettes for students to practice at home. Also, before the class is finished, each student practices with a volunteer interviewer to go over the verbal section of the test. Many of KCSC's board members have dedicated their time and efforts to participate as interviewers.
