Korean Community Service Center of Greater Washington is seeking sincere, enthusiastic, and qualified individuals to join the KCSC team. All applicants should be Korean/English bilingual or Chinese/English bilingual (depending on the requirements of the position) and have a good understanding of the role and work of US non-profit charitable organizations.

The following positions are available at KCSC’s Virginia Annandale Office:

1. Home Sweet Home (HSH) Project Coordinator–Korean Community (40 hours/week – full-time)
Job Description:
– Coordinates day-to-day operation of the Home Sweet home project
– Recruits project participants/potential mentors
– Coordinates and facilitates Marriage Education program, including premarital and married couples workshop series for HSH project.
– Provides case management and compiles necessary counseling documentation
– Refer clients to supportive services (legal, financial, etc.) as needed
Qualifications:
– Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in counseling, social work or related human service field.
– 1+ years of experience in working with Korean immigrant families is preferred
– Knowledge of the Korean immigrant community and bilingual proficiency in English and Korean is a must

2. Domestic Violence Project Coordinator – Korean Community (40 hours/week – full-time)
Job Description:
– Coordinates day-to-day implementation of the DV project, including transitional housing
– Provides case management/wraparound services to DV survivors and their families.
– Recruits and trains KCSC volunteers serving the DV program.
– Provides DV-related outreach activities, including outreach for community resources
– Creates educational and promotional materials, as needed
– Conducts workshops to community members
Qualifications:
– Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, or related human service field
– 1+ years of experience working with survivors of domestic violence and their families is preferred.
– Knowledge of Korean immigrant community and bilingual proficiency (both verbal and written fluency) in English and Korean is a must.

3. Domestic Violence Project Coordinator- Chinese Community (30 hours/week – part-time)
Job Description
– Coordinates day-to- day implementation of the DV project for the Chinese community
– Provides case management/wraparound services to DV survivors and their families.
– Recruits and trains KCSC volunteers serving the DV program.
– Provides DV-related outreach activities, including outreach for community resources
– Creates educational and promotional materials, as needed
– Conducts workshops to community members
Qualifications:
– Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, or related human service field
– 1+ years of experience working with survivors of domestic violence and their families is preferred.
– Knowledge of Chinese immigrant community and bilingual proficiency (both verbal and written fluency) in English and Mandarin is a must.

4. English Instructor (4 hours a week – part time)
Job Description
Teaching language skills within the context of career readiness and high-demand fields.
– Planning, organizing and preparing classes, including developing lesson plans
– Developing learning materials that support the learning objectives and planned activities
– Instructing ESL classes to groups of up to 7 students using a variety of active and engaging teaching strategies/learning activities and student assessment methods
– Demonstrating flexibility in meeting students’ changing requirements as conditions may require over time.
– Salary: $20/hour
– Start date: Octobe
r 1, 2016
Qualifications:
– Associate’s Degree in a related field (ESL, English, Literature, Journalism, Primary Education, Secondary Education, International Relations, and others)
– Or TEFL or TESOL certificate.
– 1+ years of ESL teaching experience are preferred.
