Home Sweet Home

The “Home Sweet Home” project is funded by Fairfax County’s Consolidated Community Funding Pool (CCFP). The program provides culturally and linguistically responsive relationship and parenting education for Korean and Chinese immigrant families in Fairfax County. Through workshops, mentoring, and individualized follow-up support, Home Sweet Home helps families strengthen communication, build healthy relationships, and develop positive parenting skills while connecting participants with community resources.

Our Home Sweet Home program includes the following services:

  • Healthy Relationship Workshops are designed for married couples, partners, and individuals who want to build stronger, healthier relationships. Participants learn practical communication skills, healthy conflict resolution strategies, and ways to strengthen emotional connection and mutual understanding. Individualized follow-up support is provided to help participants apply these skills and connect with additional community resources when needed.
  • Premarital Education is for couples who are interested in taking the next steps in their committed relationship, as well as individuals preparing for future marriage. Participants explore topics such as communication, managing expectations, conflict resolution, financial partnership, and building a healthy foundation for a lifelong relationship.
  • One-on-One Couple Mentoring is available for couples and individuals seeking personalized guidance from trained volunteer mentors. Mentors provide practical support on topics such as communication, parenting, work-life balance, cultural adjustment, family relationships, and navigating the challenges of immigrant family life.
  • Parenting Education Workshops are for parents of school-age children who want to strengthen their parenting skills and build positive relationships with their children. Participants learn effective communication techniques, positive parenting strategies, and ways to navigate family and cultural challenges while supporting their children’s healthy development. Individual follow-up sessions provide additional guidance and referrals to community resources as needed.
  • “Bring Baby Home” Parenting Workshops are designed for expecting parents and families with children ages 0–3. Participants learn how to strengthen their relationship during the transition to parenthood, improve co-parenting, reduce stress, and support their baby’s healthy emotional development. Individualized follow-up support is included to help families access additional resources when needed.
