Home Sweet Home

The “Home Sweet Home” project is funded by Fairfax County’s Consolidated Community Funding Pool (CCFP). The program provides culturally and linguistically responsive relationship and parenting education for Korean and Chinese immigrant families in Fairfax County. Through workshops, mentoring, and individualized follow-up support, Home Sweet Home helps families strengthen communication, build healthy relationships, and develop positive parenting skills while connecting participants with community resources.

Our Home Sweet Home program includes the following services:

  • Healthy Relationship Workshops are designed for married couples, partners, and individuals who want to build stronger, healthier relationships. Participants learn practical communication skills, healthy conflict resolution strategies, and ways to strengthen emotional connection and mutual understanding. Individualized follow-up support is provided to help participants apply these skills and connect with additional community resources when needed.
  • Premarital Education is for couples who are interested in taking the next steps in their committed relationship, as well as individuals preparing for future marriage. Participants explore topics such as communication, managing expectations, conflict resolution, financial partnership, and building a healthy foundation for a lifelong relationship.
  • One-on-One Mentoring is available for couples and individuals seeking personalized guidance from trained volunteer mentors. Mentors provide practical support on topics such as communication, parenting, work-life balance, cultural adjustment, family relationships, and navigating the challenges of immigrant family life.
  • Parenting Education Workshops are offered for expecting parents and parents of young children (ages 0–3), school-age children, and adolescents. Each workshop is tailored to the developmental needs of the child and helps parents strengthen their parenting skills and build positive parent-child relationships. Participants learn effective communication techniques, positive parenting strategies, and practical ways to navigate family and cultural challenges while supporting their children’s healthy development. Individual follow-up sessions provide additional guidance and referrals to community resources as needed
